Ballymahon Traders Association aims to enhance the physical , social and business environment of Ballymahon and its surrounding areas. It is made up of local business people, local representatives and members of the community. Our chairperson is John Bryne, vice Chair is Gary Molloy.
We work on a variety of projects throughout the year. These include, Christmas Lights, Christmas Fair and St Patrick’s Day Parade, Heritage day, Shop Local Campaign with St Matthew’s NS and continuously working closely with the Tidy Towns Committee. We also have hosted a networking evening for local businesses a new business information evening and an open forum debate with local election candidates. We welcomed speakers from local banks and businesses.
We rely on contributions from our members to fund projects. We work with a great group of volunteers from various organisations in town. We liaise with other groups in the community and lend our support whenever possible. We have a very active Facebook page with almost 800 ‘likes’. More recently we have met with members of Longford County Council and we greatly appreciate their support. We have big plans for the future for Ballymahon. We meet on the first Thursday of each month in Cooney’s Hotel. All are welcome to attend.
